Crikvenica is a town with a tradition in tourism of more than a hundred years. It is located in the Kvarner Bay of the Adriatic Sea, i.e. the most beautiful part of the Croatian coast. The whole city is actually a riviera with a series of urban areas that are almost connected. It got its name from the church (crikva) of the Pauline monastery built by Nikola Frankopan in 1412 at the mouth of the Dubračina. Numerous historical sights and remains bear witness to the stormy past of this city. Lovers of historical sights can visit the Pavlina monastery, Toš (an old mill for grinding olives that the ancients used for production and processing), the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church of St. Antuna, Zvonka Car Memorial Studio and Crikvenica City Museum. During the summer months, numerous events and manifestations take place, concerts, klapa shows, fashion shows, exhibitions and street festivals.
