On the east side of the island of Krk is located the municipality of Dobrinj with the center of the same name. It is located on a hill about 200 meters high and is one of the medieval castles that were centers of literacy in the past. The special value of this beautiful place is the knowledge that the parish church of St. Stjepan is mentioned as early as the 12th century, and a number of documents and Glagolitic inscriptions testify to Dobrinj as the then center of Glagolitic. For centuries, Dobrinj was a distinctly agricultural area. The place is also known for its colorful folk costumes, folklore events, sopela school and traditional local cuisine. This island center is dominated by indigenous stone houses and narrow stone streets that exude the past. Not far from Dobrinja is the Biserujka cave, which delights with its beauty and interesting sedimentary forms. It is the only cave on the island, more than 50 of them, arranged to receive visitors. According to legend, the cave was named Biserujka (pearl) after the treasure found in it, and it belonged to local pirates....
