<b>HISTORY</b>
Villa Artemis in its current location, next to the city market, was built around 1908, and before that, the previous Villa Leda, designed for the owner Josip Dujmić by the famous architect Emilio Ambrosini, was demolished. A new urban building was built in its place by the brothers Milan and Vladimir Kundić, who were famous butchers at the time, and the building, according to those familiar with the matter, most likely had a residential and commercial purpose from its beginnings.

Villa Artemis is a typical historicist villa with a uniform volume and abundant decoration (a full female figure, various masquerades, rosettes, balcony consoles decorated with plant motifs, an attic figurative frieze, etc.) arranged at the level of the first and second floors along with windows and balconies with an airy decorative metal railing between stone columns.

The corner balcony of the first floor, connected by three columns to the balcony of the upper floor, resembles a bay window, and the attic zone, finished with a high vertical copper roof with a dark green patina, is very reminiscent of the recognizable Austro-Hungarian continental architecture.

The owners probably predetermined the appearance of the villa in many ways and thus provided it with neo-style features, considering that it was built at the end of the first decade of the 20th century, when Ambrosini was primarily open to Art Nouveau trends from Vienna.
